About Me
I have been painting in various media for many years and since retiring from teaching have attended numerous courses to work on developing my art. Whilst teaching I enjoyed the hobby of painting on silk scarves and ties using batik techniques as a resist. I named my website ‘Scenic Silks’ as my designs were largely pictorial, then I moved onto painting abstract motifs. I have continued selling my work through a few outlets and on my site.
I am a member of Wirral Society of Arts and Deeside Art Group and have exhibited batik pictures and pastels (see below) in their exhibitions. I’ve recently started painting in oil and cold wax. Most of my paintings and details about them can be seen on my instagram page – @barbarameynellart
