In Memorium 2026
Alan McMahon, our chairman for many years died in May. He is sadly missed by members. He was an exponent of drawing in coloured pencils and exhibited at Patchings Art Festival. He enjoyed singing with the Port Sunlight Seadogs and his colleagues paid a tribute with songs at his funeral.


Pam Hadfield was a long standing member of the Association. We remembered her at the May exhibition with this photo.

In Memorium 2024
12/2024 With great sadness the death of our secretary Diana Baddeley. She passed away after a short illness. We will all miss her very much.
Some of her beautiful paintings were displayed at her funeral.


11/2024 Hazel Lloyd sadly passed away at the Countess of Chester hospital. She was a long term member of the association.
02/2024 Sylvia Asquith sadly passed away. She was one of our oldest regular members.
In Memorium 2023
09/2023 With great sadness the death of Brian Caley, a long time member of the association, he was a regular attendee at the Monday group until illness took hold. He will be fondly remembered by the group as a man who loved to chat, often meaning that he wouldn’t get any painting done!
09/2023 Following a long illness, Iris Cronin sadly passed away
03/2023 Graham Kay sadly passed away. He was a well known and highly respected artist on the Wirral. Graham was a founder member of Irby Artists back in 1976, and was a regular exhibitor until illness took it’s toll.
Many of Graham’s pictured in gift cards sold in local outlets on the Wirral and he was also a skilled demonstrator in both oils and pastel. Graham often featured in our annual programme of Tuesday evening demonstrations.
03/2023 Valda Parry sadly passed away. Many members will remember her.
02/2023 Betty Williams sadly passed away. She was regular exhibitor, but suffered from ill health and mobility problems in recent years.
In Memorium 2020/22:
Owen Roberts died on Christmas Eve 2020 after a period of illness. He was a former Chair of Irby Artists and well known for painting on large canvases of 40 inches wide or more.
Owen was a regular exhibitor up until 2016, not only with Irby but with other local groups
Andrew Ault, a long time member, sadly passed away 26 June 2020
Life Member, Elizabeth Naylor, a founder member of the Association, sadly passed away on 24 May 2021
Sue Green, a former long-time member, sadly passed away 17 July 2021 was a lovely watercolourist and a member for many years.
Rita Wilkinson, another long-time member, sadly passed away in September (date unknown) following a long illness and onset of dementia.
Bill Barrett, a founder member of the Association and a former chairmain for 8 years in the late 70’s. He and his wife ran the Greasby Arts and Crafts shop for many years. He sadly passed away on 12 December 2021.
Barbara Nuttall, a long-time association member and regular attendee at the Monday group. She was a regular exhibitor with her paintings, gift cards and ceramics. She sadly passed away on 26 February 2022.
Trudi Hulmston, a long-time member and one-time frequent member of the Monday group sadly passed away on 29 August 2022. She had been ill for some time and resident in a home for the past 12 months.
Margaret Bedson died on 22nd June 2022. She was a former member who retired from the association in 2018 due to a medical condition. She was regular attendee of the Monday group travelling with her friend, the Late Barbara Nuttall.
11/2022Many members will be sad to learn of the passing of Val Lomax, a former Committee member. She died in her retirement home.
12/2022 – With great sadness we report the passing away of Jill Plunkett. A bright and cheerful person, she was a wonderful animal painter and will be sadly missed
